Partners in Play: Adlerian Play Therapy for Children, Teens and Families

Date:
September 9, 2010 - 9:00am

Presented by Dr. Terry Kottman, September 9 and 10.

In this fun, interactive, 2 day experiential workshop, Dr. Terry Kottman, the "inventor" of Adlerian play therapy, will introduce you to Adlerian play therapy, a method of integrating the concepts and techniques of Individual
Psychology with the practice of play therapy, in your therapeutic work with children, adolescents, and parents. You will learn techniques for establishing relationships with clients; for exploring clients' life-styles; for helping clients gain insight into their lifestyles; and for reorienting and reeducating children, teens, and parents.

Dr. Kottman will introduce you to several of the unique ways that Adlerians conceptualize children and teens, the significant adults in their lives, and their intrapersonal and
interpersonal struggles: goals of misbehavior, the Crucial Cs, and personality priorities. We will explore play therapy strategies, art techniques, metaphors, and storytelling strategies for working with a wide range of clients. Dress comfortably and be prepared to PLAY!!
